We have received a few emails recently about bad service received from Skyphones. Now, mobiles2money has anonymously tested all the mobile phone recycling companies featured on our site and, barring some slow payments, has not had any trouble with any of them – hence their inclusion on our site.
However, we do not have the resources to regularly test these companies as often as we would like so if standards are slipping we won’t necessarily notice this ourselves. We obviously receive recycler ratings from you, our users, but we cannot always rely on these to paint a balanced picture – see our post on user review balancing if you haven’t already.
On top of this, we do receive emails as well, usually when things haven’t quite gone according to plan. Whilst we cannot act on individual emails, when several come in over a short period, it can set alarm bells ringing and this is what has happened here. From this point, we will then check our own sources for any issues that may be arising.
In this case, it seems there are a lot of angry Skyphones customers who have not been treated too well and it also seems Skyphones are not answering their phones to customers either – we haven’t been able to get through either.
Due to this, we have taken the decision to remove Skyphones from our comparison site as we would not want anyone else to potentially lose out by using their services. We have also taken the decision not to add the phones of ‘Fone Crazy’ to our catalogue as they seem to be owned by the same company.
We hope this is just a temporary glitch with Skyphones and all their customers will receive their mobile phone payments in full, but until that can be proven, we will keep them from appearing in our phone comparison tables. Unfortunately, we do not have any addition contact details for the company so we’re all in the same boat about being unable to contact them.
As a footnote, please remember to read our mobile phone recycling guide.
