You may well have noticed that unlike some mobile phone selling and recycling sites, mobiles2money don’t list prices for broken and non-working phones. So, we thought we’d just let you know why.
In the old days, there were only a couple of companies dealing with buying unwanted mobile phones and they would simply offer two prices when buying a phone – one for a working handset and one for a non-working handset. Simple.
However, now that more companies have started taking old phones off your hands, so the competition has increased and the margins have dipped for these companies. What does this mean? Well, in order to maximise profits and to be fairer to you the customer, the recyclers have changed, and will no doubt continue to change, their policies on what constitutes a broken or non-working phone. This can range from a completely dead handset that won’t switch on, to one with a missing button or cracked screen. In fact, some recyclers are now offering to pay varying amounts for your phone depending on which parts of it work or are damaged.
It is for this reason that we can’t easily show you the prices offered by the recyclers and believe it would be confusing to do so as the price offered for a broken or non-working phone is likely to vary a great deal depending on the recycler’s criteria.
If you are wanting to sell or recycle a broken phone then, it is essential that you check the recycler’s web site and specific terms and conditions to ensure you know exactly what category of ‘broken’ your phone fits in to and therefore how much cash (if any!) you’re likely to receive.
