Some very encouraging news from mobile phone recycler O2 Recycle, as they say they have generated a whopping £1 million in cash pay outs for customers recycling their old mobile phones and other electronic gadgets all less than five months since their service launched in October 2009! Their service aims to re-use as many of the unwanted phones and gadgets as possible. Any devices that are not suitable for re-use are responsibly recycled.
The O2 Recycle programme was created to make it as easy as possible for mobile phone users to recycle some of their 90 million old or broken handsets which are just sitting around gathering dust in homes throughout the UK. O2 Recycle offers a cash value for old phones and also donates £1 for every recycled device to its Think Big social change programme.
Devices that can be recycled with O2 Recycle include:
- Mobile Phones (including accessories)
- MP3 players
- Laptops, (web-books and notebooks)
- Printer cartridges
- Satellite Navigation Systems
- Digital cameras
Don’t forget mobiles2money only provide a mobile phone recycling comparison service – it’s what we specialise in – but if you do have any other old gadgets you want to get rid of and maybe make a few quid on the side, check out O2 Recycle here to see what they can offer.

Green and ethical – it’s good that they make a payment to charity too, especially if the mobile has no resale value anyway. Well done O2!
